How to film & upload the perfect video CV

  • Make sure that the background is neutral.
  • Record the video in a bright room, preferably during the day.
  • Ensure that any background noise is kept to a minimum.
  • Try to make sure there is not a bright light source directly behind you (for example, a window).
  • Position the camera so it is level with your head and shoulders.
  • You can use any sort of recording equipment, such as digital cameras, mobile phones & webcams. To see a full list of our accepted file types, click here (link).
  • If you are recording from a webcam, you can simply leave your notes open on screen as an autocue.
  • Try to keep your video to less than 2 minutes.
  • Never give out your age or contact details in the video.
  • Be confident and smile!
